I am Kirsten Thomas, a registrar specialising in anaesthesiology at University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa. I have a keen interest in peri-operative management of patients with cardiac risk factors undergoing non-cardiac surgery. I am a proud member of the perioperative cardiovascular research group at UCT and hope that through improving post operative guidelines improved patient care for these high-risk patients can be achieved.
